another day spent in the sun watching planes go zoom |

I spent the bulk of the day baking in the brutal sun, trying, once again, to shoot pictures of airplanes, from a great distance, backlight by the sun. Airplanes are hard to shoot at the best of times, they move fast, and tend to be far away. At least the trusty D50 with our 300mm lense makes getting them framed up easier, they still are hard to get a good shot.
At least this is somewhat better than last year where I spent the day standing in the rain trying to shoot basically the same grey planes against a similarly grey background. I think some of these turned out pretty good although I must admit to feeling somewhat sun stroked, and slightly hung-over at this point.
My vantage point again was from the rooftop of my friends's condo which is just to the east of the Exhibition grounds, and while not the best place to see the show, it's pretty good, and the price is essentially free (well...he did have to pay for his condo)
out of over 200 pics I shot before my battery ran out, here are the that I liked best.
enjoy.
